Treasured - Wylie Dufresne

Wylie Dufresne is the chef and owner of the wd~50 and Alder restaurants in Manhattan. In 2006, in the Michelin Guide's inaugural American edition, wd~50 received one star, which it has retained in each subsequent year. Wylie was honored with the 2013 James Beard Foundation award for Best Chef New York City.

 

What is your most treasured item?

"Junior, my head porter, who ironically is not junior in any way shape or form, is someone I treasure. If the idea was that you had to rebuild and start over, Junior is definitely the person that I would want to start over with. He is what keeps this place together while the sun is up. He is in charge. He's a treasure."
