Lidia Bastianich is a chef who specializes in Italian cuisine. She is also an author,
restaurateur and TV personality. She is a partner, along with Mario Batali and her
son, Joe Bastianich, in the restaurants Del Posto, Esca and Becco in Manhattan;
Lidia’s Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA and Lidia’s Kansas City in Kansas City, MO.
My last meal would consist of a plate of sliced San Daniele prosciutto with some ripe black figs; linguine with white clam sauce; a plate of Grana Padano; and perfectly ripe, juicy peaches.
The setting would be in my house overlooking the Adriatic, while the waves cracked against the rocky shore.
I would have plenty of Bastianich wines. I would like to pair Bastianich Rosato with the prosciutto, Bastianich Vespa with the white clam sauce, and Morellino la Mozza with the Grana Padano.
Sheherazade would be playing in surround sound.
I would like my family and closest friends with me.
I would cook with the assistance of my mother and children as we always do at home.
